Top Secret!

Valery Estabrook and Stephanie Testa, shooting a scene in the Carroll Gardens Park.

This past weekend, One Glass Productions participated in Visa's 48-Hour Life Takes Invitational. Only 30 Finalists nationwide were selected to compete based on entries for the regular 48-Hour Film Competition in June,
2007. This time around, we were given a required prop (a Visa card), and a required line of dialog ("life takes...") and asked to write, shoot, score and edit a G-Rated 1-3 minute film in one very exhausting weekend.

Our team consisted of just four people. Valery Estabrook, Stephanie Testa, Laura Hudson and Ethan Gould endured two ridiculously hot days of shooting in our Brooklyn neighborhood amidst a cloud of mosquitoes. Valery got 43 bites on one leg alone. Stephanie got two. Many thanks to Laura and Ethan for their superb performances. We couldn't have done it with out them... Well, we could have, but it would have sucked. A lot.

So now we're off to San Francisco for the screening on September 29th. The top 3 films will win prizes, so keep your fingers crossed for One Glass!

Stephanie Testa and Laura Hudson stop to admire what is quite possibly the most adorable puppy in The Universe. One Glass says, "There's always time for puppies."

And here is our entry, "Top Secret:"

You forgot to mention that you also ventured across the water to the Non-Imperialist on Carmine! I recognized the place by the price stickers. Sad.

Good luck on Saturday!

BTW, where in CG is your studio?

Ah yes, we did, in fact go to manhattan to shoot the "Jim's Bookstore" scene, at the Un-Oppressive Non-Imperialist Bargain Bookstore on Carmine, owned in fact, by Jim. It turns out that both Steph and I used to work very regularly there in our past lives, and love the owners like family. You might even run into us there, as we visit fairly often....
