How Network Cables Will Replace HDMI

Recently, a slew of television manufacturers announced the HDBaseT connection, an ethernet based cable that will provide "power, video/audio, internet and control signals" to televisions sets and replace the current HDMI connection. With the increasing potential of 3D video and 4k Resolution (a more demanding resolution with a frame size of 4096×3072 versus HD at 1920x1080), the new connection will bring the latest technology home, so to speak, making it possible to transfer audio/video data along with the capability of internet connectivity in the same cable.
